Social networking sites are a booming feature in the history of Internet that has kept millions of people engaged regularly. With Google+ or Google plus in the limelight these days, many people do not prefer to use this because of several reasons.
A few people believe that Google+ does not have anything intuitive to interact with, while others think it is a clone of the much popular Facebook. After the initial experience with Google+, if you have not been finding it worth to use for your social networking purpose, you can easily cancel your Google+ account. All you need to do is follow some basic steps to cancel your account.
Step 1: Google+ Settings
In this step, you need to log into your Google+ account using your username and password. Once you have logged in, point to the gear icon on the top right of the Google+ screen and click Google+ Settings from the list of links that appear. This is the initial point of contact for any kind of settings you want for your Google+ account, including cancelation of your account itself.
Step 2: Account Overview page
The next page that you see after you click Google+ Settings is your account details on the Accounts Overview page. In the third segment on this page, you can locate a section title “Services”. Under Services, the first text that you will find is “Delete profile and social features”.
Simply click the link adjacent to this text. However, note that you should not click any other link, especially the link associated with “Delete account” under the same Services section. This ensures that you are only not loosing access to other accounts and services related to Google+.
Step 3: Delete Google+ content or your entire Google profile
On this screen, you need to select the correct option carefully. The first option you will see is “Delete Google+ content” and the other option you will see is “Delete you entire Google profile”. Make sure to click the Delete Google+ content option only. Selecting the other available option will delete all other Google accounts and services associated with your Google+ account.
After selecting Delete Google+ content, scroll below to see a user agreement statement that reads “I understand that deleting this service can’t be undone and the data I delete can’t be restored.” Select the check box towards the left side of “Required” to agree to the statement.
Now the final step on this screen is to click the “Remove selected services” button. Once you click this button, it cancels your Google+ account and all information you had stored in your account.
Remember that cancelling your Google+ account does not stop you from accessing your Gmail account, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and other important services you are subscribed to. By cancelling your Google+ account, you can no longer login to your account or use any information you had earlier in this account. Therefore, it is necessary that you should keep a back up of any important information, images, or videos from your Google+ account before cancelling your account.
