Outlook Social Connector can do a world of good. As the name implies, it helps in integrating the social networking sites you use into Outlook.
With it, you can view the pictures of your contacts, their updates and many more things without having to leave the Outlook.
Install Outlook Social Connector
With Outlook 2010, you get the built-in Outlook Social Connector. In case you do not have the latest version, check for the Windows updates. You can get the latest update easily. There is no reason to get disheartened even if you are using a version as old as 2007 or 2003. However, with Microsoft by your side, you can use the older version of the Outlook as well.
Once the installation is complete and you open the Outlook, you will be asked to add the desired social networks. Click “Next” to start the process. On the other hand, you may have the Outlook Social Connector active, but have not yet added any social networks. All you have to do is to click the link at the end of your email to add the social network.
The next step involved adding any of the pre-installed connectors. You can even view other possible providers online as well. Windows Live Messenger will add a default connector for you.
However, if you want to include LinkedIn, Facebook or any other connector, you will have to download the connector in question. Select the network you wish to add.
You will be directed to the Microsoft Downloads page. Depending on the version you use, choose either x86 bit or x64 bit.
When the file is downloaded, you can install it like any other program you install. You need not close Outlook to make the installation, a success. However, you may need to restart it. You will be prompted to add a social network. Just click on “Remind Me Later”. Depending on what you have chosen when installation – Facebook or LinkedIn, you can add the necessary information. Use Outlook Social Connector
When you have completely integrated the social network with Outlook, you will be able to know much more about your friends. Opening an email in Outlook will tell you about the recent updates and status of your friend. Therefore, if you have integrated Facebook in the Outlook, the updates, the pictures and status of your friends will be visible right away.
If you click on a picture, it will open in Facebook in the browser. However, it will be more interesting when you use the group emails as it gives information about many friends at one place.
