Google+ is the new social networking site that is getting more and more users every day. With great features and so many social networking tools under one roof, it’s no wonder that people actually like it very much. A lot of people have already started using it with full force.
A lot of people have built a nice home on Facebook over the years and simply not ready to let go. Their Facebook profile is enriched with so many great friends, photos, videos and many more data that they don’t want to leave behind. Here I am going to tell you how to migrate all that to Google+ easily.
The main purpose of a social networking site is to be connected with people. You surely don’t want to leave a friend behind while using Google+.
The easiest way to do that is to add them using a Yahoo mail ID. The process is simple and fast. The best thing is that it doesn’t add those people to your mailing list.
First create a new Yahoo e-mail account and then go to Contact options. You will find import contacts option. Click that and select Facebook option. All your Facebook friends will be added in there. Now go to your Google+ account and from circles, select Find and Invite then select the Yahoo option. This will do it.
Google Chrome has an excellent add-on named Move Your Photos. Install the add-on and then open it from the add-on bar. You will have an option to logon in your Facebook account. Follow that and you will see all your Facebook photos. Select the photos you want to import and click Upload. You will be able to see the progress of it. Once done, you will find the albums in your Google+ account.
They are not visible to anyone by default. You will have to edit visibility for each album from the privacy settings option of your Google+ account.
Many of you will be unhappy to know that the only way to do this is to download all your Facebook videos in your computer and then upload them to your Google+ account. Its time consuming for sure but the procedure is actually very simple.
Go to Facebook account settings and select Download Your Information. Now go to Learn More and click Download. After a while you will get all your videos, and also photos with other information, in a zipped file mailed to you. Save them in your computer and then upload to your Google+ account.
Viewing and Updating Them At Once
Once everything is migrated, it’s obvious for you now to have an option to update or view both the networking site at once. Start Google Plus is a add-on that can easily do that for you. Once you install it, you will see the Facebook icon on the upper-right side of your account.
As the accounts are linked now, every time you update your status in Google+, you will be able to post it on Facebbok too by clicking the icon.
Now you have those sites together and can keep using both of them for ever.
