Windows 8 has many improved and advanced features. One of them is the improved, easy to use task manager. The Windows 8 Task manager has many added features. The newly added features include IP address indicator, managing startup programs, usage graphs displays to name a few. All of these indicators can be viewed at once in the new Task Manager.
Loading the Task Manager in Windows 8
Press Control+ Alt+ Delete buttons all at once to load the task manager. After one has performed the above steps, a link will pop up to load the task manager.

Alternatively one can load the task manager by using the right click option on the task bar and then selecting the task manager option from the options that show up.
Managing the Various Processes and Applications
The task manager provides a one shot view of all the applications and processes that run in one’s computer at any given point in time. It shows all desktop applications as well as metro style applications. To view the details relating to each processes or applications, one may click on the more details tab in the task manager box.

The statistics relating to resource usage are coated in various colors. Intense color signifies increased resources relating to that application or process. One has also the option to magnify an application to view multiple windows if it has one.
The processes are divided into three segments namely, background processes, windows system processes and applications. If one does not know about a particular process he/she may right click on that particular process and search in the internet using the search engine installed on the computer to know more about the process.
System Based Statistics
To access the statistics for the system, one may navigate to the performance tab to view the details in graphical mode. To view it in detail, one may simply select the various options given at the right side of the dialog box. The new task manager in the Windows 8 operating system provides more data compared to the task manager in the older versions of windows operating system.
One can also view the internet protocol address of the computer through the task manager without going through the hassle of finding it through the control panel. One may also view the application relating to resource applications. It is the same as it was in the older versions of the task manager.
The processes tab provides details about the current processes and applications running on a computer.

Using the application history one will be able to view the running time of the computers central processing unit and the bandwidth of the network that each particular application and other related information.
Startup Menu Programs
Startup menu tab provides details about the various programs and applications that run from the starting point of the computer once it is powered on.

Using this option one will be able to remove or add any programs on to the start menu.
The Users tab provides details of the resources used by the various users in the computer. To view the details, one may magnify the user account name.
Details and Services
The details as well as the services tab is pretty much the same as it was in the older versions of the task manager. Using this option one will be able to access and know about the various applications running on the computer and may stop them from running.
The services tab also has the option to quickly restart the various services, which is an improved feature in the windows 8 task manager. The new task manager helps a user to self-regulate the various programs and applications in one’s computer without the need for any outside help.
